Storyline
Baïtu the little white rabbit lives with his mommy Tumama next to the woods. One day, while he is away picking carrots for Tumama, an unwanted visitor turns up : the hungry Huli can't wait to make his lunch out of Tumama. Very worried for Baïtu, she bites her fingers. At this moment Baïtu feels his heart pinched and rushes home.
Will he arrive in time to save Tumama ?
What the story teaches
Arouse curiosity for nature, colours, emotions and relations with other people, especially those between parents and kids.
The book is enhanced with "bonus" pages for young or mature readers on aspects of Chinese language and culture.

GUO Ju-Jing (Yuan Dynasty, a.d. 1271-1368) is known for his compilation of twenty-four stories of filial piety. Illustrated ever since by many painters, these stories are shown and taught to children up to the twentieth century in China. A Blackberry Tale is one of the stories selected and re-written by HongFei Cultures for contemporary French readers.
Illustrator
Selma MANDINE has been trained as a designer working with photography. She became known as an illustrator with the albums La clé des songes and Le roi qui désirait le temps (éd. Gecko 2006). Her drawings, with softly changing shades of colour and light, evoke a poetic and enchanting realm. Thanks to the fine-tuned shapes and movements, she creates captivating features that touch the heart of many readers.
