That's why he keeps the ripe blackberries for his mommy and granny; even the snake approves him !

Storyline
Yuanyuan the little panda lives with his mommy Tuantuan next to the woods. One day, he goes to the bambou bosquet to pick up blackberries to offer to his mommy and granny. When finished, he gets ready to go home. At this moment, a snake sticks out its head from one of the baskets of Yuanyuan : you cen tell that he is not happy being disturbed in his sleep !
However, curious as it is, the snake cannot help asking Yuanyuan the reason why in a basket, the blackberries are ripe while in the other they are not...
What the story teaches
Arouse curiosity for nature, colours, emotions and relations with other people, especially those between parents and kids.
The book is enhanced with "bonus" pages for young or mature readers on aspects of Chinese language and culture.
Author
Chun-Liang YEH, traveller through different cultures, was born in Taiwan and has studied in Britain and France, where he lives now. He worked in a parisian practice of architecture before devoting himself to making books on architecture and design. Publisher of picture books for children since 2007, he is also the author of Pi, Po, Pierrot (ed. HongFei Cultures) and the Chinese translator of Paradis artificiels of Charles Baudelaire (Taipei, 2007).
Illustrator
Gaėlle DUHAZÉ, self-made artist settled in Angoulźme, invents for young readers a whole universe inhabited by organic figures and spirits, where sensibility and playfulness are blended. In parallel to the publishing, she collaborates with design agencies to creat diverse communication supports. She has a MSc degree (DEA) in history of art.

GUO Ju-Jing (Yuan Dynasty, a.d. 1271-1368) is known for his compilation of twenty-four stories of filial piety. Illustrated ever since by many painters, these stories are shown and taught to children up to the twentieth century in China. A Blackberry Tale is one of the stories selected and re-written by HongFei Cultures for contemporary French readers.
