The moon shines in all her beauty. Rising above the East wall of Ji's Family, she seems to smile at the boy Bao-Huang, while making his father sad.

For the moon brings with her huge tides of love overwhelming the man : a hundred days will have gone since his beloved wife passed away.

Storyline

The moon shines in all her beauty.  Rising above the East wall of Ji's Family, she seems to smile at the boy Bao-Huang, while making his father sad. The boy doesn't know why.

The young housemaid accompanies Bao-Huang to the riverside, joining people in the Lantern Festival. This colourful celebration coincides with the "Hundred Days" of the death of the boy's mother.

Back to the house, the music of the celebration fades away while the suppressed sobs of the father resound in the dark. Gently, the sad songs of love turn into a lulliby sending the boy into the dreamland, like tides' caressing with unfailing care.
